Kosmos is Greek for world. It is the name of our boat, and the scope of our travel ambitions.

Hi Eric,
1) do you sail the same route around the world as the NH40 has done it in 2002/03?
2) how is the price per liter or per gallon for gasoil (diesel) in the States and how manny money do you calculate in the different countries?
3) do you have pictures for the cable electric installation behind the shapes, walls etc.?

I am interresting, while I think about a NH40 perhaps NH43 from UK while we have to look to the CE European Regulations / Certifications.
After my sail trip from St Marteen to Mallorca Med. starting this week (Apr.01, 2006) I will spend time to go to NH UK.
Have fun..

Hi Peter,

1) It will be similar, but we will be stopping much more to visit land. The main difference is we cruising more in the South Pacific, starting with the Marquesas islands (French Polynesia) as opposed to Hawaii. We plan to take the Suez and Panama canals.

2) We are preparing for $1 per liter average. Right now it is about $0.75 per liter in the US. We expect to fill up about 9 times.

3) While we do not have pictures, it pretty easy to follow the wires and plumbing by removing various panels. Also there are detailed diagrams that come with the manual. Each Nordhavn comes with a custom made manual for the systems on the boat.

Best wishes on your sailing trip. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Eric,
thanks for the above information. In Germany is the price for gasoil (diesel) around 1.35 USD/ltr. It is more expensive as in the states, good for you.
Perhaps I see a NH now in St Marteen by the end of this week.
The best time is .. ,to plan the boat and see the every day more new installation.
All the best for you and your wife and see you mid may.
