Kosmos is Greek for world. It is the name of our boat, and the scope of our travel ambitions.

She's looking great! Though, I admit, I have no idea what's missing from the photo. A crow's nest?

Interesting guess, but nope. I will wait a bit longer and see if there are any guesses. It is certainly something tricky to see, and probably only other people with boats would be able to tell. There are a couple things out of place. Notice a cover leaning by the smokestack behind the radar. And the horn is not mounted at the moment.

Eric & Christi,
Kosmos is looking better and better every weekend we walk by. I'm sure you can't wait to take it home. Congratulations!

Eric & Christi,

Congratulations on Kosmos! We have recently discovered Nordhavn and are considering a 43 or 47 for ourselves. I'm looking forward to visiting your site frequently. Is it the tender/dinghy that's missing? Best of luck in your upcoming adventures!

Welcome to the site Mark and Kristie! If you have any questions, let us know. Both the 43 and 47 are great boats.

The missing items are the Single Side Band (SSB) radio antenna, and the Very High Frequency (VHF) radio antenna. They are pretty tall at 23 feet. They should be up soon.

Good guess on the dinghy. We have a dinghy, but for now we are going to keep it in deflated in the lazarette. We are thinking about a hard dinghy at some point, perhaps one that can be used as a sailboat. So technically you are right for our big plan. :-)
