Also for e-mail we are using the SSB with Sailmail. We are getting Grib and weather files from MaxSea by e-mail. Also weather faxes through the SSB. We are probably going to get Ocens too. Finally we are using a weather router, OMNI, for our passage to the Pacific. Also we got a great deal a used NeraPro 1000. We will be using that at various times for Internet on land. The NeraPro links to the BGAN Imarasat system, which is not active in the South Pacific yet. I have used Skype and it works nicely. You get very inexpensive voice communication.
