Kosmos is Greek for world. It is the name of our boat, and the scope of our travel ambitions.

Hello Kosmos crew and Mike. I found the cost data you have very interesting. However, you guys being younger have an option Mike and I do not have like going back to work, lol. (did not say it was a good option. Mike would be interested in comparing notes at some point as I am in much the same position as you. Feel free to mail direct at RandLC@msn.com or I will try to check the blog.

Thanks all.

I have read a lot of your blog as a Nordhavn Dreamer. I read this with interest as I plan to buy a NH in the not to distant future and I am trying to decide what size is the right one. I have looked at your 43 up to a 55 which is what I'm leaning toward for the space. I was encouraged by your saying that it isnt quite 10% of the cost to run a relatively new boat. I'm in a little different situation then the both of you in that I am at the end of my carreer and getting ready to spend more time with family and I am in a better position now financially then I was. Having said that I don't want to get something that takes and inordinate amount of work and money to run and maintain. Your blog above is helpful in making a decision. I hope that this doesnt end your cruising career forever. I know this was supposed to be a 2 year thing for you but I can't help but think you'd like to go back out again!
Good Luck
