Thanks for posting that picture I love it! BTW – sorry I didn’t make it clearer in my email to you… Chicago does have a “Chinatown” just south of the Loop. The restaurant we ate at is in a section of Edgewater (centering on Argyle St) in the north side that has been the main Viet Namese neighborhood in Chicago for several decades….

We had such a lovely time – best wishes with everything!

Good thing you did not eat more of the kokorec (pronounced ‘koh-koh-retch’) because it is made of sheep and/or calf intestines. I don’t like it either. But, Izmir is the best town in Turkey. Period.

So sorry that we forgot to put that in. In the beginning, when the car was heavy with fuel and we were doing a lot of mountain roads, we were averaging in the high 30’s for miles per gallon. Towards the end, once we were lighter and doing more flat highway miles, we were averaging more like 45 miles per gallon. So, the overall average for the entire trip came out to 42 mpg.

We’re glad you liked the book! I plan to have “Part 2: Australia to Oman” out before Thanksgiving. The prologue will cover the later planning stages of our trip and will address many of the common FAQ’s, such as “What about pirates?” and “what about rogue waves?” When Part 3 comes out depends on how well Part 2 sells. The more time I spend marketing, the less time I have to write.
