We plan to get another dinghy later. There are many kinds of dinghies out there, and we are not quite sure which will be our next one. Our new dinghy is very light (77lbs), and it rolled up to fit in the back of our car. It will eventually go in the lazaratte. The little motor does the job. It will be interesting to race Kosmos against this dinghy and motor, we think they are about the same speed (7 knots). The motor is incredibly light (28lbs) and miserly sips gas. The motor is also air cooled and 4 stroke, making it very easy to operate. The Achilles can take a larger motor and go much faster, but that will come later as well.

We do not have a name for the dinghy yet. We actually like its brand name “Achilles”. It fits into our Greek named boat. Any other thoughts for a Greek name for dinghy?

As we were toured the marina we spotted another new Nordhavn 43, hull 16. Of course went right up to their shiney new boat with our shiney new dinghy. Alas no one was home, but on our return pass they were there. There appears to be an instant kinship with Nordhavn owners, especially when you have the same model. We hit it off right away. We had a wonderful time visiting and we wish we could have stayed longer. The good news is they will be there for a few weeks and we plan to visit them again. We are reminded that this is what is all about, making new friends and sharing.

Kosmos is about 6 weeks away from being done.
