As was typical, there were a lot of ducks around the marina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was a quiet day. In the morning, Eric tried to fix our vacuum. We hadn’t mentioned it, but it had broken a few days ago. Eric determined that the roller had so much hair stuck in it that it melted! The vacuum had a couple different sized heads that could be attached, so he simply swapped out the head. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our big outing was going back to Lola’s<\/a> for brunch. Eric and Keith both ordered mocktails. Eric got a mock michelada<\/a> and Keith got a mock guava margarita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That night, another violent thunderstorm blew through. It was so loud that we had a hard time getting to sleep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This afternoon, we went to Stony\u2019s <\/a>for brunch. Eric ordered a breakfast pizza. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the early afternoon, Bigger Boat<\/a> came to Kosmos to play D & D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, we all went to the Latino Music Festival at Norfolk Town Point Park, which was directly next to Nauticus<\/a>. We went to the same parking garage across the street from Nauticus, and were unhappy to find that the parking was a $10 flat fee. When we pointed to the sign that said first 2 hours free, the attendant said that the prices changed for special events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival set up was very similar to what Ft. Monroe<\/a> had on the 4th of July: a stage at one one of the park with vendors selling an assortment of goods ringing the edges. When we arrived, a band was playing and the music was great, but loud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park had great views of the military shipyard<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And Portsmouth<\/a> across the Elizabeth River. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Bigger Boat, we met up with three other family boats. We had a nice time getting to know them all. Interestingly, between all 5 families, there were 10 boys and not a single girl. Keith was the oldest of the group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t stay long because another big thunderstorm storm was forecast to come through. We didn’t particularly want to get wet, and given the flooding problems<\/a> in Downtown Norfolk, we decided it was probably best to get out of the flood zone before the rain started. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last time<\/a> we’d come here, we’d seen a place called Insomnia Cookies near the parking garage, which sold cookies, brownies and ice cream. Their big selling point was mixing and matching flavors of cookies\/brownies and ice cream. We decided to get a quick dessert before heading out. Eric liked his, but Christi and Keith didn’t like theirs much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
