is formed from a re-usable mold.\u00a0 The hulls on all the model 43 boats are exact copies.\u00a0 However there are many options with a Nordhavn and no two are exactly the same when they are completed.\u00a0 As hulls are built the are referred to by their hull number.\u00a0 So before she becomes Kosmos, our boat is hull number 18 of the Nordhavn 43 foot model powerboat, or simply 43-18.<\/p>\n<p>The boat yard factory is in Taiwan.\u00a0 Once completed it is put on a cargo ship and sent over to Dana Point California, which takes about 3 weeks.\u00a0 In Dana Point the boat needs to be <strong>commissioned<\/strong>.\u00a0 This is a lengthy process.\u00a0 During commissioning they check out all the numerous boat systems and put on final equipment.\u00a0 For example some equipment installed in Dana Point will be the pilot chair, paravane stabilization, the mast and smokestack, and various electronic pieces.\u00a0 Even a custom manual is created for the boat during this time.\u00a0 A proper commissioning process is one of the reasons we really trust our Nordhavn.<\/p>\n<p>The factory construction time is about 6 months.\u00a0 Add in commissioning time and it
