On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, it was windy again with 15 \u2013 20 knots sustained that was forecast to last all day. In good news, the wind had shifted to be from a more comfortable direction and there wasn’t much motion onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the big winds, there were 6-foot waves in the ocean. Eric was anxious to see the blowhole<\/a> in action at high tide with the big waves. Neither Christi nor Keith were particularly interested in going with him, but he talked them into it. At 0745, we set out on the trek to the blowhole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the slightly taller vantage point closer to the shoreline, we had a better view of the nearby homes and the bay across the small valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here was a shot taken on the dirt road as we were walking back to the main road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the strong wind and wind chop in the bay, it was a very wet dinghy ride back to Kosmos. However, Eric rewarded Christi and Keith for making the journey by making a French toast breakfast! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since he used up all the bread we’d just bought<\/a>, after we finished school and chores, we made another trek to shore to another loaf of bread. We decided to get an early dinner while we were out, and were pleased to see that the Lorraine’s by the road <\/a>was open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an indoor restaurant, and it was nice to be in a climate controlled setting. The couple that we’d met on Sunday<\/a> wandered in shortly after we did and wound up joining us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorraine’s served standard Bahamian fare. In fantastic news for Christi, Lorraine’s cooked everything to order, which meant she could order almost anything on the menu. She ordered conch fritters<\/a>, which was a food that she normally couldn’t order in restaurants because the dough was usually pre-made with black pepper. She was thrilled. And the frozen drinks were huge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food was good and the prices were comparable to Emerald Sunset<\/a>. However, cooking food to order meant slow service — slow even by Bahamian standards. We didn’t mind the slow service, and we had a nice time getting to know our new cruising friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After dinner, we headed back to Kosmos. It was another wet ride back, but since it was a short ride, we didn’t really mind being sprayed with the sea water. We had yet another quiet evening onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
