Our friends on Tiki Tour<\/a> were at an anchorage a couple miles away from us. This morning, they sent a text saying that they were coming over to visit in their dinghy. Since we’d last seen them, they’d picked up another set of guests<\/a>, who were a family that used to cruise on a boat called Betsy. Betsy came, too. Sadly, their timing was terrible because all of the other families in the anchorage had gone to town today to meet the supply ship. The other families would have been thrilled to see Tiki and Betsy again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiki arrived armed with paint because they’d heard through the grapevine that their sign had faded. The first thing they did was refresh their sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then they loaned us their paint and Eric painted a Kosmos sign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Eric found a nice spot to hang it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"\/<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Then we went for a short hike to a viewpoint at a high point on the island. The trail was narrow and a bit overgrown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We took a shortcut down by rappelling down the cliff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay, maybe rappel was too dramatic of a word since there were several footholds where one could stop and get oriented before continuing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sandstone cliffs were geologically interesting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after returning to the beach, Tiki and their guests headed back to their anchorage. In the early afternoon, another boat that we’ve been traveling with intermittently, Clean Cup<\/a>, arrived in the anchorage. It was nice to see them again. In the evening, we went to shore and hung out with the group. The people who met the supply ship said pretty much the whole town was there and it was a festive atmosphere, but they were tired from sitting in the sun all day waiting for the ship to unload its cargo. One of the cruisers dropped some crackers on the ground in front of the hermit crab. It grabbed one and scampered off. We expected it to come back for more, but it never did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
