On Monday, March 2, the sunrise was blocked by a cloud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning, it was very windy with on-and-off drizzle. We went to shore for bread and groceries. These birds usually moved as a flock and had an interesting wing pattern. Christi has been trying to get a photo of them flying. She’s never been successful at catching the flock at the right angle to see the pattern, but she finally caught one with its wings open so you can kind of see the pattern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the full moon, it was an extra-low tide, and we were surprised to see there were a lot of conch shells along the part of the shore that was normally underwater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We stopped by Lorraine\u2019s mom’s<\/a> to get bread. Sh wasn’t there. Then we went to the little grocery store next to Deshamon’s<\/a>. We don’t think we’ve ever posted a photo of the store, so here it is. The concrete patio in front was just poured the last few days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve also never posted a photo of the church behind the blue grocery store<\/a>, so here it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And since we’re posting photos of the town, this is something we find humorous. We’ve posted it before<\/a>, but it was a small part of a larger photo. We felt like it deserved a close up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went back to shore in the evening to meet our friends for dinner. We arrived early and had some time to kill, so Christi and Keith walked around. They saw Tangent and Traveler<\/a> hanging out at the deck behind the laundromat.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They had chatted for a few minutes when the adults noticed there were people on the salvaged boat.<\/a> The moms approached the boat and asked the people onboard about it. The people said that a salvage company had quoted the owners $10,000 to pull the boat off the shore, so they abandoned it. Some locals worked together with two small boats to raise it. Amazingly enough, it was completely undamaged. They’d docked it at Lorraine’s and were trying to sell it.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had dinner at Deshamon’s.<\/a> They were supposed to have good pizza, but they only served it at dinner time. We’d called earlier in the day to make a reservation to ensure they’d have enough pizza dough ready for us. We should have clarified we were bringing hungry teenagers, because, while they did have enough dough for all the food we ate onsite, they didn’t have enough dough for all the extra to go orders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our opinion (speaking for Eric, Christi and Keith, not the whole group) was that the pizza was only so-so as compared to a place like Verde<\/a>. But, since the food in The Bahamas isn’t great in general, we’d say that the pizza was really good by Bahamian standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Went back to the boat for the night. We had great visibility on the dinghy ride thanks to the very bright full moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
