By yesterday morning, the wind had died down quite a bit and we had light rain<\/a>. But the anchorage was more uncomfortable than it had been the last couple of days. There was more boat traffic, and the wakes made the anchorage rolly. Also, the wind waves were causing a somewhat lurchy motion. Eric put out the port flopper stopper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Keith finished his school work, we took the dinghy to shore. There wasn’t much water in the bottom of the dinghy, so hadn\u2019t rained all that much overnight, either. We hopped in the car and headed to the closest mall. It was very upscale and fancy.\u00a0After being in The Bahamas for so long, where access to goods was limited, it was a bit overwhelming to be in a mall, with unlimited access to almost any good one may want to buy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We bought Christi a new phone case — hers has been held together with blue tape for more than a month. We got a new keyboard for Keith — his had broken about a month ago. Eric found a work around, so Keith has been managing, but it was making school and talking to friends tough for him. Eric got his glasses fixed — one of the nose pieces had broken a couple of weeks ago and it actually hurt him to wear his glasses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After taking care of our errands, we went to El Mezcal<\/a> for a late lunch. We were sad to find it was closed on Mondays. Having our heart set on Mexican, we found a place with good reviews called Torero\u2019s and went there. It was in a strip mall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service was amazingly fast,\u00a0the food was good and the portions were generous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torero’s was good and we would recommend it to others, but we think El Mezcal was better. After lunch, we headed back to Kosmos. The ride back in the dinghy was much better than on Sunday — we managed to stay dry<\/a>! Once we returned, Eric ran the water maker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve noticed that in this spot, which was relatively close to the entrance to the ocean, the water in the lake was pretty clean on the incoming tide — clean enough to run the water maker. However, on the outgoing tide, when the water was being sucked out from deeper in the lake, the water was disgusting. There was no way we\u2019d run it on an outgoing tide. Eric thinks we’re probably at the edge of where the water flushed enough to make using the water make viable (remember, it was too dirty downtown to make water<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our normal routine was to run the water maker every morning while we’re doing chores and school. But in this anchorage, we needed to be cognizant of the tides and make sure we were onboard on the out tide. Today, we got back a little late for the tide swing, so we could only run the water maker for\u00a045-minutes. Here was the twilight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the nearly full moon lighting up the sky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning, we awoke to a nice day. While Christi and Keith did school, Eric called our web hosting company to try to figure out what was going on with our mysterious data usage<\/a>. He didn’t really get any answers. After we finished school and chores, we headed to shore to drive to a book store in a town called Tequesta, which was 24-miles north of us. Keith really wanted a specialty D & D<\/a> book. Eric checked every store in the area, and the only place that had it in stock was this particular store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have upcoming boat work scheduled with Yacht Tech<\/a>. Since it was literally on the way, we made a pit stop at the marina that we’d been assigned to be at for the work, called Marina Village. It was part of a high end tourist complex with a cute shopping center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given that Yacht Tech had several slips, it had several Nordhavns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a quick look around, we hopped back in the car and continued north. The book store was located in a strip mall with a West Marine, so after picking up the book, Eric stopped by West Marine to look at dinghy motors<\/a>. There was a Greek restaurant in the shopping center, called Greek Taverna. Christi had been craving Saganaki,<\/a> so she went to see if they had it on the menu. They did, so we had lunch there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food was great, and the service was amazing. It is definitely a place that we’d highly recommend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before heading back to Kosmos for the evening, we made a stop at Target to pick up some consumable household goods. On the dinghy ride back, we saw three turtles! (Or maybe we saw one turtle three times).\u00a0We had a quiet night onboard. Here was the sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
