On Thursday afternoon, we\u2019d attempted to go to La Paz via the road. Unfortunately, the logistics hadn\u2019t worked out.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still wanting to go to La Paz, we started Friday morning off by planning the logistics to take Kosmos. Once we realized that conditions would be more favorable to travel in the early afternoon, we went back to the shallow nook and frolicked in the water some more. Oddly enough, there were less fish and birds than yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We left for La Paz at 2:00 and dropped anchor by 3:30. This is an unusual anchorage. Because of strong currents and strong, shifting winds, boats move in unpredictable ways. Typically, in an anchorage, all the boats face the same direction (into the wind). As you can see in this photo, we were almost nose to nose with the boat to our north, while looking at the side of the boat to our east. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We got the dinghy down. The dinghy repeatedly bashed into Kosmos. Eric spent a long time rigging up a system to hold it in place (compare this four-point set up with shock absorbers to the picture posted on July 14<\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided to stay on board for the evening. We wanted to make sure that Kosmos was secure in her new spot. Yesterday morning, we headed to shore. We had a great breakfast in a restaurant called Hacienda Rancho Viejo, then went to the farmer\u2019s market. Here are a couple of photos taken on the Malecon (the street that runs along the bay). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By then it was already uncomfortably hot, so we went back to Kosmos and turned on the AC. At dinner time, we went back to shore and had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant in Marina de La Paz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
