Eric did not sleep well from all the rolling in the anchorage. First thing in the morning, he deployed a flopper stopper. It helped some, but it was still uncomfortable. The water was too shallow to put out the paravane, so later in the day, he fixed the broken flopper stopper. <\/a>The flopper stopper had metal clips and it was the clips that had broken. He just tied knots in the line and deployed it. Much to his pleasure, it worked! Having the second flopper stopper helped even more, but there was still a lot of movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our friends on Oceananigans<\/a> arrived in late morning. With all the rocking, we were desperate to get to day land. Shortly after they arrived, we went to shore with them to do the hike up the ravine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From that point on, it became a scramble over some large rocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rock formations were interesting. They seemed to be sandstone rock, but they were topped with a layer that almost looked like baked dirt. Christi thought that the layer looked like frosting on cupcakes. While the sandstone was solid, the top layer was hollow and echoed when knocked on. Many of the the sandstone rocks were strangely shaped and many had areas hollowed out of them. They were beautiful and interesting to look at. We kept wondering what made them develop this way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trail ended at a cave of sorts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, we went over to the south beach, where Keith and most of the Oceananigans crew climbed the rock wall that divided the beach and walked along it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the hiking, the kids played along the estuary while the adults dawdled. No one was in a hurry to get back to the rocking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cliffs in the anchorage were majestic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
