We were sad to leave Playa de Bonanza before we’d done any exploring, but it was uncomfortable and we needed to move on. We pulled up anchor at 0815 and headed north to Isla Partida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In good news, Eric and Keith were both feeling better. In bad news, Christi now felt like she was fighting a cold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For two-and-a-half hours, the ride was a bit bumpy due to head seas. But it smoothed out pretty quickly once we rounded the northern tip of the island and turned southwest, with the wind and waves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half of a mile north of Isla Partida’s tip was a tiny island called Los Islotes, which was a world-famous sea lion rookery. Sea Lions can sometimes be aggressive creatures, but we’re told that at this spot, the sea lions were friendly and would allow people to swim with them. Only licensed tour operators were allowed to go to Los Islotes. We didn’t see too many sea lions, but we could hear them barking as we passed by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensenada Grande had three coves. At noon, we dropped anchor in front of the middle cove. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since we hadn’t been on land in a couple of days, we got Kosmos down right away and went to shore. Looking north<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We found out that this was a conservation area, which meant no walking anywhere except for the shoreline. There were some tourists there who told us that the next cove over had a nice hiking trail. We took the dinghy over there to scope it out. The cove had no boats in it, so we decided to move Kosmos to the southern cove. Here is a shot of Kosmos as we were getting ready to move her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was only 1430 (2:30 pm), but the half-moon was already up and glowing brightly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we were secured in our new spot, Eric and Keith went to shore while Christi took a nap. Here are some photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see from the photos, there were a lot of tent campers. Eric and Keith found the hiking trail. They realized that it was rocky and overgrown with plants, so pants and real shoes would be necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
