Sunrise on Thursday, December 1. Sometimes the clouds made the sunrises and sunsets extra dramatic; sometimes the clouds just blocked the light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were all ready to start hiking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At first the trail was dirt and some rocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Looking back at the beach from early on in the hike<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Not too far up, it became almost all rocks. Some were small and loose and easy to slip on, some were quite large and we had to scramble over them. We would have never been able to figure out the trail if there weren\u2019t trail markers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since this ravine was much wider than the one at Ensenada de Candelero<\/a>, we couldn\u2019t get close-up views of the geologically interesting cliff walls. The rocks in the ravine all looked like they had broken off the cliffs above and fallen down. There were pretty views of the bay for part of the hike. We could see Kosmos from many of the viewpoints!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually the trail turned and we could only see the ravine and cliffs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about a half-hour, we turned around and made our way back to shore. Shot of Kosmos in the anchorage with the estuary in the foreground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We headed back to Kosmos and got her ready for sea. At around 1400 (2:00 pm) we lifted anchor and headed for… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
