At around 1400 (2:00 pm) we lifted anchor and headed south. It was a quick 45-minute ride south.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/kosmos.liveflux.net\/blog\/2022\/11\/20\/san-evaristo-to-ensenada-del-candelero-on-isla-espiritu-santo\/\">previous post<\/a>, we&#8217;d mentioned that Isla Partida and Isla Espiritu Santo were so close to that they almost touched. That&#8217;s because they were once part of the same volcano; the space that divided them was the volcano&#8217;s crater. As we pulled in, the anchorage looked similar to Puerto <a href=\"https:\/\/kosmos.liveflux.net\/blog\/2022\/09\/03\/bahia-san-fransquito-to-puerto-don-juan\/\">Don Juan<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/kosmos.liveflux.net\/blog\/2022\/07\/25\/bahia-candeleros-to-puerto-escondido\/\">Puerto Escondido<\/a>; a large round anchorage surrounded mostly by hills, with a low sand bar on one side. It looked like one island; there was no visible space between the sandbars of the two islands. Now that we were thinking about it, the strange rock formations on <a href=\"https:\/\/kosmos.liveflux.net\/blog\/2022\/12\/08\/playa-la-bonanza-to-ensenada-grande-on-isla-partida\/\">Isla Partida <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/kosmos.liveflux.net\/blog\/2022\/11\/22\/ensenada-del-candelero-on-isla-espiritu-santo-day-2\/\">Isla Espiritu Santo<\/a> did remind us of the cliffs of Santorini.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we pulled in, the family was pulling the kids on their wakeboard with the dinghy. As soon as we dropped anchor, they picked up Keith to join in. We&#8217;ve never seen that before here in Mexico. We had assumed there was a fee and had not given them our trash since our bag was only half-full.
