And while the moon wasn’t as dramatic this morning as it had been the previous few days, it was still striking.

Yesterday and today have been very social. Yesterday, Christi had lunch with a friend from college who currently lives about a half-hour away from Annapolis. The last time Christi and Katie had seen each other was when Christi was pregnant, so they had a lot to catch up on!

Christi and Katie ate in a restaurant in Eastport called Boatyard Bar and Grill. Inside, it was decorated to look like the interior of a boat. It was an eclectic and fun setting.

As soon as Christi returned from lunch, we hailed a ride share to a park a few miles outside of town. One of the families that we’d met on Tuesday was hosting a birthday party for their son, and via the assorted nautical apps, they’d invited all the cruising families in the area. The park was apparently close to a dinghy dock near a popular anchorage.
Since there were so many families in town right now for the boat show, the party was packed! We saw a family that we’d met in Deltaville that had recently returned to their boat after being away for the summer, and we met a lot of new people. Keith had a blast running around with all the kids.

One of our goals was to find other families that were heading to the Eastern Caribbean this season, and we were a little sad that we didn’t find a single one. The majority of families were going to The Bahamas. A couple of families intended to stay in the US. And one family was putting their boat up for sale and going back to land life.
The weather was odd during the party. When we arrived, it was warm and overcast. Then a warm rain came through. Then the rain stopped and, quite suddenly, there was a cold wind. The party broke up shortly after it turned cold. In good news, this new cold wind was coming from a different direction than the wind had been coming from the last couple of days, and in the evening, the marina was calm.
This morning, Eric went to boat show while Christi and Keith did school. Eric had stopped by the OC Tender booth to talk to them, and was surprised to find that he could clearly see Kosmos — and our OC Tender on the upper deck — from their booth. While at the show, he ordered another battery for our Torqueedo electric motor. We only had one, and he wanted a spare. He also bumped into the dock master from Shelter Bay Marina in Panama, who totally remembered Eric and Kosmos. A lot of boats go through Shelter Bay Maina, so Eric was surprised that he remembered us. Maybe being right in front helped.
In the afternoon/evening, Eric ran two D & D sessions. The first was with Blue Heeler, continuing the game that they’d started in DC. Then he did a session with the other two families that we’d met in the park on Tuesday. Both families were new to D & D, so Eric taught them how to play. Keith had a great time at both sessions.

Twilight on Thursday.
