Friday, October 31, 2025 continued… We dropped off Fynn at his boat and headed back to Kosmos to get ready to go trick-or-treating. Here was the twilight at the marina, which looked surprisingly similar to today’s dawn.

We picked Fynn back up shortly after sunset. We knew that there was no point in trying to trick-or-treat in the condo complex surrounding the marina, as we had yet to see a single child there. In fact, since we’d only seen older people, we were beginning to wonder if this was a 55+ complex. But we figured we could go trick-or-treating at the nearby houses.
We drove around the neighborhood, but we saw few decorations, few porch lights on, and no families out. We decided that this was probably not the right place to try trick-or-treating. We decided to go back to Eastport because yesterday and today, we’d noticed a majority of houses were decorated. Eastport exuded a community-centric vibe, and we sensed they would be enthusiastic about trick-or-treaters.
We were worried about finding parking, but we found a 2-hour spot with little difficulty. As soon as we’d parked, we knew Eastport was a good call. Most of the houses had porch lights on. Some of the houses even had people sitting outside handing out candy. There were lots of families walking around. People were jovial and friendly. The kids cleaned up on the candy.

We’d skipped dinner, so after we dropped Fynn off, we went to dinner at Taqueria Juqullita. Last time, they’d been out of jamaica. When we asked if they had jamaica this time, the owner said she’d just made a batch that day from hibiscus she’d grown herself. We’d ordered larges, and we were astounded when she brought each of us small pitchers. It was perfectly sweetened and one of the best jamaicas we’ve ever had. Keith sorted his loot while we waited for our food.

On Saturday, we were planning to meet Karen and Mark in DC and spend the day together. However, they had an emergency arise and had to cancel. We debated about going to DC anyways, or maybe taking a road trip to another nearby area that we hadn’t been to before, but ultimately decided to have a quiet day onboard, instead.
In the morning, we mostly puttered around the boat. Eric ran the engines and electronics to give them some exercise. At lunchtime, we went to a nearby bakery and restaurant, called M Cafe, for brunch.

The menu was mostly standard American fare with gourmet twists and the food was fantastic.

In the afternoon, the Tiki kids came over for D & D. In the evening, we had dinner at the marina restaurant. The service was slow, and even though we hadn’t complained, they gave us a free dessert to compensate. The food was good, but the dessert was amazing. Inside the chocolate shell was a thin layer of chocolate cake topped with two kinds of mousse.
