We made another trip to the Isla Todas Santos. This time we knew just the spot to anchor, nestled between some kelp beds in about 30 feet by the north island. The cloud cover varied, but it was warm and pleasant. At one point in time we thought it was raining, but it was a large school of small fish jumping out of the water. It never actually rained. Here are some pictures around where we were anchored.
We got to try out the snubber we made. A what? Background: Our 88 pound anchor is attached to 400 feet of chain. Chain is super strong, but it does not stretch like rope and makes an annoying sound as it rubs on the bow roller. So the solution for a quieter and more comfortable anchoring is to “replace” part of the chain with some rope. So you attach this line, called a snubber, to the chain, attach the rope to the boat, and then let the chain go slack a bit. The rope becomes a shock absorber. Yet if there is too much stress on the rope, the full strength of the chain is there to hold us secure. Here is a picture of the snubber line. We probably have a bit too much slack in there in this picture.
After we anchored we got really busy. Really busy napping. It was quite calm, and Kosmos rocked like a crib. After napping, we ate while we enjoyed the beautiful view around us. A classic restful and relaxing boat outing, to be sure.
We had a nice visit by some dolphins on the way back. It was neat. A couple came swimming up. Then they called in their friends. From a distance you could see another group turn around and come right for the bow of the boat. They sure do like to play around in the waves. We got one on video for a brief moment.

We brought some friends along. Here they are at the dock.
That night we ate at a place we like, Los Veleros, at the Hotel Corona. We highly recommended the flaming strawberries for dessert. They make them at your table. While the flash on the camera took out most of the flames, trust us, they flamed up quite high.
Overall good times. We like Mexico. People are friendly and we have had a nice time there so far.
