On Thursday, October 13, the birds were chatty during the sunrise
The almost full moon was also still high in the sky after the sun rose
None of us were feeling particularly good; we weren’t sick per se, but feeling like we were fighting something off. We mostly laid low until mid-day, when we finally decided we were ready to get moving. We went to shore and had lunch at the restaurant on the south end, called Armando’s. The beach landing was notably easier on the south end. It was less rocky and the sand was more coarse. On the north end, the sand was squishier and slimier. We noticed that, in addition to the roof covering, the camp site palapas on this side of the beach had partial covers on three of the sides.
In terms of structure, Armando’s was similar to Anna’s, though the decor was more low-key.
The tacos were pretty!
After lunch, we went for a dinghy ride down to the south end of cove. The houses on the south looked big and fancy. A couple of the stone homes looked almost like medieval castles.
As we were traversing back towards Kosmos, we stopped at a nice beach and went for a swim. The cruising guide had said there were warm springs at this beach, but we didn’t see any (nor did we do any exploring beyond the obvious to try to find them). The first photo is the beach (cameras looking south), the second photo is the view of the cove from the beach.
We were disappointed that there was currently an algae bloom, which made the water very green. The water clarity was still good, but everything had such a deep green hue that we couldn’t make out much. The snorkeling was supposed to be excellent around here; we were disappointed that the water conditions weren’t good for snorkeling.
