Fish activity around Kosmos the morning of Thursday, November 17
Eric had made plans to go diving along the big rock island with some of the Oceananigans crew. Diving the rock was even better than snorkeling it was. They saw an eel that was so big that it could be mistaken for a sea monster. The head was as big as a man’s torso.
Unfortunately, the anchorage continued to rockier and more uncomfortable. In the afternoon, we went to shore briefly to get a reprieve from the motion. The other times we’d been to shore, the tide was relatively low; today the tide was higher and coming in. On Day 1, the pass between the two sides of the beach was dry. Today, the water was surprisingly deep. Only Christi waded through it to get to the other side.
Christi found the estuary interesting. When it was dry, we hadn’t realized it made an S shape.
Christi was apparently anointed into sainthood while standing on the beach.
Kosmos and her paravane force-field.
Non-dramatic, but still lovely, sunset.
We went over to Oceananigans at around sunset. Between the red lights and “force-field,” Kosmos looked malevolent in the low light.
