This week has been very eventful. On Saturday morning we arrived at Panama. We did the usual settling in process, then went to go eat something. But in Panama, breakfast really isn’t a thing, so there weren’t any restaurants open. So we just went back to the boat and had some eggs. We checked into the port captain and immigration, then went ate at a restaurant. Mom’s food choices were limited because almost everything had black pepper, and my food was okay.

Cette semaine il s’est passé beaucoup de choses. Samedi on est arrivé au Panama. On s’est installé, et après on a essayé de manger quelque chose. Mais au Panama, il n’y a pas de petit déjeuner, donc nous avons mangé sur le bateau. Nous avons fait l’émigration et on s’est enregistré auprès du capitaine du port. Après ça nous avons trouvé quelque chose à manger. Maman ne pouvait pas manger beaucoup parce que toutes choses avaient du poivre.

We ate dinner at a restaurant closer to the marina, but mom’s stomach wasn’t feeling great so she didn’t have anything. 

Nous avons mangé le dîner à un restaurant proche de la marina, et l’estomac de maman lui faisait mal donc elle n’a pas mangé. 

Sunday, we went out to eat for lunch at a Colombian restaurant, then walked around a nature preserve close to our marina. It was really boring. We ate at a really good pizza place for dinner. 

Dimanche, nous avons mangé à un restaurant Colombien, et après nous nous sommes promenés dans une réserve naturelle proche de la marina. C’était très ennuyant. On a mangé à une très bonne pizzeria pour le dîner. 

Monday dad had his heart set on going to a Japanese restaurant, so we went to one. It was in a big food court with a central bar. Me and Mom’s stomachs weren’t feeling great, so we didn’t have much food. 

Lundi papa voulait manger dans un restaurant Japonais, donc on y a été. C’était dans une aire de restauration avec un bar central. Mon estomac et celui de maman étaient douloureux, donc on n’a pas mangé beaucoup. 

Tuesday mom had an important video call, and dad and I revisited one of the restaurants we ate at before. Dad and I split a decaf marshmallow coffee (it was just a coffee milkshake). After that we had a cruiser kid come to visit. I played board games with him, which was pretty fun. 

Mardi maman avait un appel video important, et papa et moi avons remangé au restaurant Colombien. Nous  avons partagé un café décaféiné au chamallow (c’était juste un milkshake en café). Après ça un enfant de matelot nous a rendu visite. J’ai joué à des jeux de société avec lui, ce qui était plutôt amusant. 

Wednesday we went to the Panama Canal museum in old Panama. The museum was boring but old Panama is pretty. 

Mercredi nous sommes allés au musée du Canal de Panama dans le vieu Panama. Le musée était ennuyant, mais le vieu Panama était beau. 

Then we went to eat at a restaurant nearby. The waiter said nothing had black pepper, but it turns out he was full of crap. Mom still got a good meal, though. My sandwich was really good, and I had a piece of red velvet cake for desert. 

On a mangé à un restaurant proche du musée. Le serveur disait que rien n’avait de poivre, mais il ne disait pas la vérité. a quand même mangé quelque chose de bon. Mon sandwich était très bon, et j’ai mangé un morceau de gâteau « red velvet »

Thursday we did some training in preparation for the canal crossing. We took a break from that to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant which wasn’t very good. The service took soooo long and the food wasn’t that good. We had frozen yogurt after. 

Jeudi nous avons fait les préparations pour la traversé du canal. On a fait une pause et mangé à un restaurant Méditerranéen qui n’était pas très bon. Le service a duré longtemps, et la nourriture n’était pas très bonne non plus. Puis on a mangé un yaourt glacé. 

Today (Friday) some friends flew in to serve as line handlers for the Panama Canal crossing. Mom had another call, so we all went sightseeing without her. We ate at a restaurant. It took us three tries to find a good one. The first restaurant was really fancy and expensive, plus the waiters didn’t seem to like us in our T-shirts and shorts. The second restaurant didn’t have anything we liked (I think, I didn’t get the gist of why we left), but the third restaurant was really good. They specialized in gourmet churros, but they also had burgers and sandwiches. 

Vendredi des amis ont volé au Panama pour nous guider avec des cordes pour la traversée du canal. Maman avait un autre appel, donc on a vu les vues sans elle. On a mangé à un restaurant. On a fait trois essais pour trouver un bon restaurant. Le premier était très cher, et les serveurs n’aimaient pas nos t-shirts et shorts. Le deuxième restaurant n’avait rien que l’on aimait (je crois, je ne sais pas vraiment pourquoi on est parti), mais le troisième restaurant était très bon. Ils faisaient de très bons churros, mais ils avaient aussi des sandwichs et des burgers.
