The moon was only 2/3 full, but still looking huge and vibrant during dawn on Wednesday, March 19

Since it was kind of hard to explain the geography of this area, we figured the path of least resistance would be to post a picture of the chart so that it is possible follow what we are talking about. The red blob was Chat N Chill beach.

Today we got lunch onshore at a restaurant called The Snappy Turtle in the St. Francis Resort and Marina, which was located at the blue blob in the chart above.

Lunch was okay. Christi ordered a basket of deep fried conch and Eric ordered a conch burger. Neither had ever had fried conch before. Here was Christi’s basket:

We’d say the texture was similar to calamari, and like calamari, could be chewy. The pieces of conch were surprisingly large. Christi used a fork and knife to cut her’s, as she found it difficult to cut with only a fork. Eric’s burger was basically the same large pieces of deep fried conch, but served on a bun. It was a bit challenging to bite into the burger, but he managed to do it without silverware.

After lunch, we traversed the tiny spit of land to the Atlantic coast.

To help illustrate how narrow the spit of land mass was, in this photo, Eric was standing at top of the staircase down to the Atlantic, and we are looking back at the resort and Elizabeth Harbour.

These rooms certainly have fantastic views! (looking north)

We walked along the shore for a while.
After we returned to the dinghy, we explored the little bay behind the Chat N Chill Peninsula (yellow blob on chart above). Like the estuary in Calabash, it was very shallow and we had to proceed cautiously. Also like the estuary, there was a channel marked. This was the entrance into the little bay.

There were only a few structures on the land surrounding the bay. Most of them appeared to be private homes. At the end, there was a bigger set of buildings that we knew was part of Kahari Resort.

After we finished our dinghy explorations, we went to Chat N Chill beach. Eric and Keith played D & D with the kids while Christi chatted with the parents. After D & D, we went back to Kosmos and had a quiet night aboard.
