This week has been fun. We were at sea on Saturday and Sunday and nothing much happened. Dad was sick, and so was I. We arrived in the Bahamas on Monday, and we stopped at a place called Matthew Town for a few minutes to check into the country. After that we left Matthew Town on Great Inagua, and went to another island, Long Island, which took a day. The bay was named Little Harbor and we met a nice family there. We went to the beach with them. 

Cette semaine était amusante. On était en mer samedi et dimanche, donc il ne s’est pas passé beaucoup de choses. Nous sommes arrivés sans les Bahamas lundi, et nous nous sommes arrêtés dans un village qui s’appelle Matthew Town pour s’enregistrer dans le pays. Après ça on est parti de Matthew Town de Great Inagua, et nous sommes allés sur une autre île, Long Island. Le voyage a duré toute la journée. La bay s’appelle Little Harbor, et nous y avons rencontré une famille. On est allé à la plage avec eux.

On Wednesday, we departed for another bay named Calabash, which had a resort on it. However, we had a stabilizer failure. That delayed us slightly, but we still went to sea. The ride was fine. When we got to the next bay, we just lazed around for the rest of the day. 

Mercredi nous sommes allés à une autre ile avec un resort dessus. Mais nous avons eu un problème de stabilisateur. Ça nous a retardé, mais nous avons quand même navigué. Le voyage était ok. Quand nous sommes arrivés à la bay on est juste resté pour le reste de la journée. 

On Thursday, we decided to eat at a restaurant. We had to reserve it. It was at the other end of this really shallow estuary. The dinghy got stuck a few times, but we managed to get there. We were late, but it was fine since these other people stole our spot. Mom and Dad’s food was good, but mine was bland. On the way back to the boat, we stopped at the resort and ended up eating a dinner there because I was still hungry. When we left, there was a massive tornado of mosquitos chasing us. I got at least 20 bites. 

Jeudi on a décidé de manger à un restaurant. Il fallait réserver. Le restaurant était sur l’autre côté d’un estuaire qui n’était pas très profond. Le canot a été coincé deux ou trois fois, mais nou sommes arrivés au restaurant. On était en retard, Mais c’était ok parce que d’autres personnes avaient volé notre reservation. La nourriture de maman et papa etait bonne, mais ma nourriture était sans goût. Sur le chemin du retour on s’est arrêté au restaurant du resort et j’ai mangé un autre dîner parce que j’avais encore faim. Quand nous sommes partis, il y avait une tornade de moustiques qui nous poursuivait. J’ai au moins 20 piqûres. 

On Friday, we left for George Town, which is where all the boaters congregate. It was a short, calm ride. When we got there, we just lazed around for the rest of the day. 

Vendredi on est parti pour George Town, qui est là où tous les bateaux se rassemblent. C’était un petit voyage très calme. Quant nous sommes arrivés, on est resté pour la reste de la journée.
