In the am, Eric filled the tanks that were used yesterday. After he was done, Eric and Christi jumped in the water and finished cleaning the bottom. Eric saw a nurse shark while he was underwater. Between the two of them, they used one tank of air. They were both relieved to finally be done. They vowed to never let the bottom get so bad again.
We decided to get a late lunch/early dinner onshore. We landed the dinghy at the yacht club and walked over to The Ship Yard. We’d put in a photo of the Ship Yard’s property in another post, and here is a photo of the restaurant itself. They told us that their chef was on vacation this weekend, so only the bar was open.

We walked back to a restaurant called Big Dog’s (one of the buildings that we’d previously mentioned was having a second story added), which was near the yacht club. It was 1630 when we arrived. Even though the sign said they opened at 1600, they weren’t open.

We then walked to the fourth and final restaurant in town, called The Flying Pig. It was a pretty walk though a mostly residential area, though it looked like many of the homes had businesses running out of them.

The Flying Pig was located inside a resort called Embrace. The sign said it opened for dinner at 16:30, but it was 16:35 and it wasn’t open yet. We saw a hotel employee walking around and asked when the restaurant would open. She said that since the hotel was slow, it wasn’t not opening for dinner right now.

So we wound up back at the yacht club.

We’ve forgotten to mention the Bahamian signature drink, called The Bahama Mama. It’s been on pretty much every menu we’ve seen in the Bahamas. It has coconut rum, Myer’s rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and grenadine. Even really strong Bahama Mamas go down easy because they taste like fruit juice.

While we were sitting in the yacht club, the soreness from the bottom cleaning began to set in. Eric’s jaw was hurting from the regulator in his mouth over the last three days. Christi’s arms were sore from all the barnacle scraping over the last couple of days.
Back at Kosmos, a nurse shark really took a liking to our boat and circled it for a long time.

Twilight.
