On Saturday, December 13, the sunrise was again blocked, but some of the clouds turned pretty colors.

After morning chores, we went to shore to get lunch. The public dinghy dock. There were three ladders. It looked like it had been really well built, but it was starting to show wear. One of the ladders wasn’t secured properly, another was missing a part of the hand rail, making it a little challenging to get onto the dock. The third ladder was in good shape, though!

The dinghy dock was off to the side of the main dock where the supply delivery boat came. We were surprised that there was so much stuff on the dock. The main dock had more deferred maintenance issues than the dinghy dock did.

The government complex sat at the foot of the dock, on the southwest corner of the main road and dock road.

This was the northwest corner of the same intersection.

It was a T-intersection. On the southwest side of the street, across from the pink government building, was a yellow government building. This was also where cruiser’s could drop trash at $5.00 per bag.

We turned right and followed the main road, which paralleled the shore. Near the yellow government building, It looked like a new building was under construction.

The little snack restaurant was closed… maybe permanently?

This was the view of the main dock, dinghy dock and anchorage from the snack stand.

A little further down the road we came to the grocery store. Apparently, the shop was on the first floor and the second floor was a hotel.

Directly across from the above blue building was a restaurant and grocery store. The restaurant wasn’t open.

The next restaurant we came to was Lorraine’s. It was also closed.

We continued down the road. Not far past Lorraine’s was the school.

A little further down the road, we passed a medical clinic.

Not far from the clinic was the police station.

And we eventually made it to Emerald, which was .6 miles away from the public dock. The inside was mostly a bar with a small tables, but there was a large deck on the waterfront side with a lot of outdoor seating.

They had a big dinghy dock. Good to know that we could dinghy over here.

The food was standard Bahamian — limited choices, mediocre food, and expensive for what it was. But no complaints. In The Bahamas, the food situation is what it is. Eric had ordered a cracked conch burger and salad.

While we were waiting for our food, a boat with a family that we’d met at Annapolis pulled into the anchorage. After lunch, we headed back to Kosmos. We passed the family on the street as they were heading to the restaurant. We stopped and had a nice chat. Sadly, they were only here for the night and would be moving on early in the morning.
The rest of the afternoon and evening was quiet, A little bit of sun was visible through the clouds near sunset.

Saw The Good Part pull into the anchorage. Bumped into The Good Part when we were leaving/they were arriving at restaurant. Once we got back to the boat, I made chicken soup and chicken enchiladas
