Continued... We crossed the bridge to Russell Island. Like Spanish Wells, Russell Island was also narrow and the main road ran through the center of the island. The road was at the top of the hill, and we caught glimpses of the stunning water on both sides as we drove along.

We drove to the end of the road. Later, we found out that there was a trail we could have taken down to a beach on the tip of the island. From what we saw, Russell Island appeared to be mostly residential, and the homes on Russell generally looked newer and bigger than most of the homes on St. George’s Cay. There was a lot of construction in progress. St. George’s Cay also had several homes under construction, too, but those looked to be renovations, whereas on Russell Island, they looked more like new builds.
On the way back, we stopped at a beach bar and restaurant called The Sandbar. We’d intended to get something to drink, but it was packed with people who’d come in on fast tourist boats, so we skipped the drink, took photos, and left.

After we crossed the bridge back to St. George’s Cay, we stopped at the beach along the western tip of the island. Like on the northeast tip, there was a gazebo. There was also a swing in the water.

We walked northeast on the beach for a little ways.

After our walk, we hopped back into the golf cart and followed the road around the tip, where it connected with the main road that ran through the center of town. Our next stop was another beach, this one in the middle of the north side. As we passed the grocery store, we decided to make a quick stop to scope it out. We’re glad we did — we found out they would be closed tomorrow for Good Friday, so we had to do our grocery shopping today. We picked up a few things that we knew we needed.

Not far from the grocery store, we turned up a street that opened onto the beach.

This beach was flanked by a large sandbar, leaving a small pool of water that was great for small kids. We walked out along the sandbar for a ways.

After that, we were tired. We had the gof cart for 24-hours, so we could resume sightseeing tomorrow. We parked the golf cart near the rental place and dinghied back to Kosmos. Yesterday, we thought we may have seen turtles in the channel, but we weren’t sure. Today, we were watching for turtles, and we did see some on the ride back. This was the sunset.
