Caleta Partida, Day 3

Sunrise on Sunday December 4

In the morning, a couple stopped by in their dinghy and invited us to a cruiser party at 1600 (4:00 pm) on the Partida sandbar. By the time we finished our chores, it was low tide again, so we just stayed aboard until it was time for the party. The moon was up again, and getting fuller.

Much to our confusion, there were no cruisers on beach, but there were two families with kids close in age to Keith. One was a local who owned a boat and was entertaining friends from out of the country. Eric and Christi talked to them while the kids played.

As they were leaving the beach to go back to their boat for dinner, we could see some dinghies coming towards us. The cruisers arrived to shore at 1300 (5:00 pm). Christi must have misunderstood the party time, but it was fortuitous because we wouldn’t have met the families otherwise. Keith was much happier after play time with kids, even if it was short. Here was the sunset.

The party was nice. Keith and Christi didn’t stay long, but Eric stayed until bedtime. The ¾-moon was so bright that it lit up the beach and cast shadows.
