Second Trip to Marina Costa Baja, Day 17

On Wednesday morning (February 15), Christi and Keith finished washing the boat. They also went back over the parts they’d done on Tuesday to remove the layer of residue that had already formed.

We had a late lunch the Spanish restaurant in Costa Baja, called Taberna Espanola. Eric ordered two tapas: a mushroom stuffed with pork topped with a quail egg and beef filet with caramelized onions served on toast.

He also got an order of shrimp croquettes, which were basically balls of mashed potatoes stuffed with shrimp, bechamel sauce, then breaded and baked or fried. Eric thought they were likely deep fried.

For dessert, he got a Catalana Cream, which was a baked dessert with milk, eggs, cornstarch, cinnamon and vanilla, served with ice cream Christi feels the best description would be bread pudding without the bread.

Keith also ate a large meal, then he ate a large apple tart for dessert. The food was great and we all overate. After lunch, Eric went for a walk around marina to help digest his food while Christi and Keith went back to the boat. Here are more photos of the birds that live in the marina. Yes, they do like to inhabit the boats.

Eric passed someone wearing a Nordhavn hat, and asked if he had a Nordy. The man recognized Eric right away and said he’d read our book. He and his wife were on their way to lunch at the Spanish restaurant and invited us to join them.

Eric went to Kosmos and got Christi and Keith, and we met the couple at the restaurant . Christi and Eric were stuffed and couldn’t eat another bite. But Keith ordered a second apple tart with ice cream and ate it all! We had a lovely visit.
