Working on Some Blog Upgrades

We are pleased to report that we were someplace with a fast wi-fi connection for a few days, so we were able to start working on a project that we have been wanting to do for a long time. A few months ago we added the “where we have been” page. Over the last few days, we have added coordinates to each of the locations, along with dates of the blog posts so you can easily go back and read about a certain location. We have started working on linking the coordinates to a map on Google Earth. And, last but not least, we have gone through a lot of the old postings and updated the “categories” sections, so now when you click on a category there will be lots of posts. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to complete any of the projects, but we will work on them some more when we get to another good internet connection. We would love some feedback to let us know what you think of the additions. We are pleased to announce we just recieved our 500th comment!

Site Housekeeping

We added some recent questions to the end of the FAQ. We made some minor updates to other static pages. There is a new picture at the top of the Our Boat page, bonus points if you can figure out where we took that photo. We added a new category of “South Pacific” and we will be trying to tag the posts.

Almost Ready

We are still on track for noon departure on Saturday. There is still a lot
to do, but we think we will make it. It is quite a chore getting
everything securely stowed for the upcoming trip.

Departure is Saturday April 28th

After much debate we are committing to a departure date and time from San Diego to Nuka Hiva: Saturday, April 28th at noon. Yes, this is a bit later than thought, but we want to make sure we are ready. Weather should still be favorable and we will have plenty of fuel.

On the 20 day passage will be Eric, Christi, and Richard. Richard is a seasoned boater and owner of another Nordhavn 43. We are privileged and pleased to have Richard aboard.

We invite you to visit around 11am to say farewell and bon voyage to the crew of Kosmos. We are at the Kona Kai Marina in the G section (see diagram).

Sprint to the Start

According to our plans we have about 32 days until we depart San Diego for Nuka Hiva. The last couple months we have been in a sprint to get things done and finish equipping Kosmos. While we love to share details, we have been, and will continue to be, extremely busy. Hence do not expect many blog updates before we leave.

Hopefully during our 20 day passage to Nuka Hiva we will be able to fill in some of the details of all the preparation work we did.

Overall things are going well. Everything is coming together. Kosmos is performing great, and we know she will be safe and comfortable. We are very excited.
